I have been under Mr Pickersgill's care for treatment of ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids and endometriosis. He is one of the most genuine and caring consultants I have ever met. He is thorough with his explanations of conditions and answers all questions well. He appreciates patient anxiety and offers the right kind of reassurance due to his extensive knowledge and experience. He is just fantastic and I would highly recommend his service should anyone be in need of it. He practices both privately and NHS and I can say from experience that there is no difference in his practice. His demeanour is the same in both areas, which shows that he's not in the business for money. He cares about his patients and aims to get them better. I cannot thank him enough for his help to-date.

I have been under the care of this amazing consultant for 3 years following a recommendation after over ten years of unsuccessful treatment of endometriosis. I previously endured frustrating experiences of Consultants who simply treat patients as just another familiar condition in their field and putting it bluntly you leave with nothing more than an addition to a hefty building of case notes feeling just as bad as when you went in . My experience of this consultant has been nothing short of outstanding. Dr Pickersgill has performed successful corrective surgery which resulted in a reduction of my symptoms and a pregnancy 3 months later . I must add this is following long periods of unsuccessful pregnancy attempts . Dr Pickersgill has been consistent with follow up care and supported me through a very difficult time concerning a pregnancy unrelated to my condition. I experience him as warm, empathic and reassuring and believe the rare qualities he holds are what consultants should aspire to. To patients managing long term health conditions that impact physiologically , psychologically and socially on their life, being under the care of professional doctors that recognise and treat you as individuals is paramount in the management of the condition . This consultant shows sensitivity to personal experiences , decision making , respecting autonomy and plans care accordingly . He is extremely knowledgeable and provides information which has resulted in a successful treatment plan with less hospital visits. When in consultation with him, I do not feel rushed. I feel individual and important enough to be helped .This has remained a consistent experience and I would not hesitate in highly recommending this consultant to women experiencing gynaecological issues and especially endometriosis.
